Meet Risa Bakker, a lifelong farmer with deep roots in California’s San Joaquin Valley. Raised on her family farm in Dinuba, she grew up surrounded by grapes, peaches, and apricots before her family planted their first blueberries—now the heart of their farm.
Today, Risa farms alongside her dad, brother, and husband, Chad, continuing the family’s legacy while raising walnuts, corn, alfalfa, and wheat in Hanford, California. Together with their children and grandchildren, they are proud to practice sustainable farming and carry their traditions forward.
Beyond her own fields, Risa works with other farmers to bring responsibly grown fruit from California to Las Vegas and beyond. She also serves on the U.S. Highbush Blueberry Council, where she advocates for growers nationwide and helps shape the future of the industry.
At the heart of it all, Risa is dedicated to family, community, and farming with purpose—ensuring the land and its bounty thrive for generations to come.
